Developing and Giving
As a private, independent school, we are free to pursue our mission in the ways we choose – the ways we know work best. Of course, along with the advantages of independence, there are also financial challenges.
Since only about 85% of our annual expenses are covered by tuition, we must rely on additional contributions to meet budgetary obligations and “fill the gap” between what the school charges for tuition and what it costs to educate each child. The generosity of parents and grandparents, faculty and staff, alumni, past parents and friends enables us to fill this gap. Whatever their personal connection is to Chance, we’re grateful that they share our commitment to continuing our rare and wonderful mission – to prepare children for a lifelong love of learning.
There are a variety of ways to support our school’s continuing needs. On an annual basis, we receive financial support from Chance School’s two fund-raising events: Challenge for Chance and the Auction. In addition, there are optional revenue-generating opportunities through School Store. Together the funds from these activities provide for the balance of operating expenses, enhance current programs, contribute to the socio-economic diversity of the school, and strengthen the organization for the future.
