Application & Registration Process
Interested parties are encouraged to call for a tour and begin the admissions process.
Applications are accepted at any time. However for first-round consideration, families are encouraged to complete the admissions process by these deadlines:
Step 1 - Tour the school. Tours are offered Monday – Friday during regular school hours and given by appointment. Call the school to schedule your visit. 502-425-6904
Step 2 - An Application for Admission is on file. Submit as an original application with a non-refundable, non-transferable $75 application fee OR as an Application Update (no additional application fee is required if an original application is already on file).
In addition, these existing forms must be submitted:
- Copies of professional evaluations that indicate special concerns (vision, speech, psychological, physical, medical, hearing, behavioral, attention)
- Teacher Recommendation Form for kindergarten and first grade applicants
- Copies of recent report cards and standardized test scores

Application deadlines for first-round consideration:
Preschool: On or before December 14, 2007
Elementary: On or before January 25, 2008
A Chance representative will initiate one or more of these steps upon receipt of an application:
- Interview an applicant's teacher, with a parent's signed permission on the Application for Admission
- Observe an applicant at his/her current school
- Schedule two days of shadowing at Chance School for an elementary applicant
Decisions are announced
For preschool applicants - January 11, 2008, and thereafter as openings exist
For elementary applicants - February 14, 2008, and thereafter as openings exist
Registration packets are mailed to accepted applicants with an acceptance letter, enrollment contract, tuition and fees, and financial aid information for the 2008-2009 school year.
Step 3 - Secure your child’s enrollment once accepted:
Return the Enrollment Contract with attached papers and a $750 non-refundable, non-transferable registration fee by the deadline according to your acceptance letter. Families applying for assistance will pay a $100 refundable registration fee while completing the financial aid process.
Deadline: Typically two weeks from the date of your child’s acceptance
The signed enrollment contract is binding and as of June 1, 2008, a family is liable for the entire tuition.
If applying for financial aid
Chance School offers partial financial aid to those families whose children have been accepted in a five-day program at Chance and can demonstrate need for financial assistance. An outline of steps and required forms are distributed with acceptance packets. Refer to the Financial Aid section on the web as well.
Financial Aid Application Deadline for first-round decisions: March 6, 2008
Decisions are announced by May 1, 2008
Applicants meeting the first-round deadline will be included in decisions when maximum funding is available. A financial aid application received after this deadline is considered if funds are available.
