Financial Aid

Chance School offers partial financial aid to those families whose children have been accepted in the school's five-day program and demonstrate need for financial assistance. A refundable registration fee of $100 is required to reserve your child’s spot at Chance while applying for financial help.

Required forms are distributed with acceptance packets or accessible online at www.factsmgt.com, so that an applicant’s family can submit them to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment in a timely manner. FACTS will process only one application per family. Faxed applications will not be accepted.

All families of current and new students applying for financial aid for the 2008-2009 school year must complete and submit the required forms to FACTS by March 6, 2008. Applicants meeting this deadline will be included in the first-round decisions when maximum funding is available. Financial aid applicants providing required paperwork after this deadline will be considered if funds are still available.

The Financial Aid Committee will review the information once a file is complete and render a decision by May 1, 2008. All financial aid inquiries and information submitted by families are kept confidential. Financial aid is granted on a year-by-year basis. Priority is given at the elementary level to achieve full enrollment, gender balance and diversity goals.

In addition to the application, the following documentation is needed to complete each family’s file. Supporting information can be mailed or faxed to FACTS:

• A copy of the parent’s 2007 Federal 1040 or 1040A U.S. Individual Income Tax Return (2 pages). State tax returns are not accepted.
• Copies of the parent’s 2007 W-2 Wage and Tax Statements
• Copies of all supporting tax schedules if you have income from:
  Business – Attach Schedule C or C-EZ (Form 1040)
  Farm – Attach Schedule F (Form 1040)
  Rental Property – Attach Schedule E (Form 1040)
  S-Corporation– Attach Schedule E (Form 1040), Form 120S and Schedule K-1
  Partnership – Attach Schedule E (Form 1040), Form 1065 and Schedule K-1
  
• Copies of all supporting documentation for the household Social Security Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

FACTS requires payment of a $20 non-refundable application fee. Allow 3-4 weeks for FACTS to process forms and submit a financial analysis and recommendation to the school.
