Extended Programs on Non-School Days
As a service to parents of Chance students ages 2 through 5th grade, Chance School offers several program options on “non-school days”. The school continually strives to meet the needs of Chance students and families and our Extended Programs are no exception. Organized by Chance’s Extended Program Coordinator and staffed by Chance lead teachers and assistants, groupings are made in accordance with the appropriate ratios per age as enrollment dictates. Registration will be on a first-come, paid basis as outlined on required forms.
Program routines include:
- Center activities and projects that are age-appropriate.
- Playtime in the Funroom or on the playground in the morning and afternoon.
- Snack provided by the school, along with orange juice, milk or water.
- Lunch brought from home with milk provided by the school. We stress the importance of sending nutritious foods so that children are ready for the afternoon’s activities. Access to both microwave and refrigerator makes a variety of menus possible.
- Rest time for preschoolers during afternoon programs, allowing for sleepers to nap and non-sleepers to play quietly on mats for this designated period.
The schedule remains flexible to take advantage of weather and special events.
Break Bunch
Available on certain days when regular classes are not in session due to professional development, parent/teacher conferences and certain breaks, Break Bunch is an option for current Chance students, and siblings, ages 2 – 5th grade. Registration is confirmed when the school receives the completed registration form and payment on a first-come, paid basis. While enrollment is open, a minimum of 6 children is required per day. Summer Camp
Summer Under the Trees & Summer on the Bluff is available during the summer months for children entering a 2 – 5th grade program for the upcoming school year. Camp brochures, distributed in the March, will reflect camp dates, weekly themes, and daily schedules as well as fees and deadlines. Each theme features exciting activities in art, nature, games, music, drama and stories. Campers exercise their creativity, explore and learn while having a wonderful time. Special activities include Sprinkler Day, guest experts, and theme celebrations. For Bluff campers only, field trips are also included. Registration begins for Chance families in early March, and then opens to the public in late March, on a first-come, paid in full basis.
