As Director of Development at Virginia Chance School, I am responsible for managing our fund-raising efforts, including overseeing our fall campaign, Challenge for Chance and our Annual Auction in February. I also have the pleasure of working closely with our Parent Council, Board members, committees, and parent volunteers. I love organizing and overseeing events and enjoy working with our fabulous volunteers throughout the year on all of our school events like Fall Festival and Grandparents Day.
I have always enjoyed working in a learning environment and love working with young people. I am a Sunday school teacher, was a dance teacher for many years and have professional experience working with schools through Market Day Corporation and the American Heart Association. Prior to coming to Virginia Chance School, I worked as Corporate Philanthropy Manager at the Kentucky Science Center. I am a graduate of Bellarmine University and have over 25 years of collective sales and fund-raising experience.
The best thing about working at Virginia Chance School is getting to know all of the wonderful children, parents, grandparents, and friends that make this school unique. The amazing supportive environment is truly what makes this school so special. I am very fortunate to be able to work in a place where I can honestly see that where you start truly matters and understand the impact that is being made on so many young lives.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Scott for 21 years and we have a daughter in college, a son in high school, and a 1-year-old puppy, Cooper. My greatest joy comes from watching them grow, learn, achieve their goals, and become successful compassionate individuals. I also enjoy volunteering at our church and my son’s school whenever possible. I love books, music, traveling, and attending concerts and sporting events.
