I am an Elementary Certified Teacher with a Master’s degree in Teaching from Bellarmine University and an undergraduate degree from UK. During the past two years, I have taught third grade in the Public School system, and I have additional training and experience in Virginia Chance School's Literacy program.
I am excited to be your new Second/Third Grade teacher and to be teaching in the progressive pedagogy! I’m looking forward to learning, laughing, and challenging my students this upcoming school year by getting to know who they are and their interests and building on those in creative ways to connect to our curriculum.
When I’m not at school, I love spending time outdoors with my husband, Doug. We like to play volleyball, go mountain biking, and travel to see friends all across the country. We have friends that live in the mountains and friends that live in big cities. I enjoy visiting those places, but my favorite place in the world is the beach. We are all big Kentucky Wildcat fans. I have two younger sisters, one is a nurse, and one is a student at UK. This year my family bought a puppy named Luna. She is a Cockapoo which is 50% Cocker Spaniel, 50% Poodle and 100% crazy!
