Extended Programs Director
I am currently working on a Master’s degree in school counseling and I have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Louisville. For the past five years I have worked with children in various settings ranging from social work, environmental education, and working with children with special needs. As an environmental educator I had the opportunity to travel and work in beautiful places such as Alabama, Minnesota, and Maine. I have always enjoyed engaging children in nature. There is nothing I love more than seeing a child’s eyes light up when they discover something for the first time.
What drew me to The Virginia Chance School was their focus on the whole child, engaging children in nature, and teaching them how to be good environmental stewards. I truly believe these values are crucial for a progressing society.
I enjoy sharing my beat-boxing skills with kids and I also love playing team-building games. In my free time I enjoy hiking, camping, kayaking and playing guitar. I am super excited to be a part of the awesome team at Chance!
