I have a MAT in Education from the University of Louisville and a Bachelor of Science from Auburn University. I have previously taught in public school and parochial schools. I love the progressive education philosophy at Chance and feel it is a privilege to teach at a school that supports and encourages the whole child in such a positive way. I enjoy providing progressive, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for preschool students. I am in my 9th year of teaching and my 4th year at Chance.
I strive daily to always treat each student with dignity and respect. It is so rewarding to watch and encourage preschool children as they practice collaborative problem-solving. I am thrilled to be a small part in guiding children on their learning journey.
Outside of school, I have been an artist for many years, creating oil and acrylic paintings. My husband and I are scuba divers and enjoy exploring the beautiful world under the ocean whenever possible. I have one married daughter, and she and my son-in-law have blessed me with one beautiful granddaughter. I love spending time with my family and feel very honored to be part of the VCS family.
