Fours/Pre-K Preschool Teacher
I am originally from Charlotte, NC, where I began my teaching career, teaching kindergarten, and first grade. I have a Master of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Bachelor in Elementary Education from Western Carolina University.
This is my fifth year at Virginia Chance, teaching Pre-K (the Fours) and my 8th year teaching. I love Virginia Chance School and our belief in Progressive Education because we focus on the whole child and create a community that is caring and respectful within both the classroom and the school, as a whole. VCS fosters creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and active learning. We believe that children can learn best through hands-on experiences, discovery, exploration, and play and provide learning experiences to meet every developmental level.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and fishing and exploring the many things Louisville has to offer with my husband, Ben. I also love traveling and spending time with our family and our two cats.
