Applications are provided by the Admissions team after an initial connection with your family.

Applications received after the December 11 priority deadline may be considered on a rolling basis as space remains available.

Step 1 – Submit an Inquiry

Complete our New Student Inquiry Form to tell us about your family, the child you are considering for Chance, and your anticipated enrollment year.

A member of our Admissions team will follow up with you and help determine the appropriate next step.

Step 2 – Visit Chance

Prospective families have opportunities to visit campus through group tours, Open House events, and personal tours.

Your Admissions contact will help guide you toward the visit that makes the most sense for your family and where you are in the admissions process.

Step 3 – Submit an Application

Once your family has connected with Admissions and is ready to move forward, the Admissions team will provide access to the Application for Admission.

Applications must be complete by December 11, 2026 to receive first-round consideration. Applications received after the priority deadline may be considered on a rolling basis as space remains available.

Application Requirements

A complete application includes:

Application for Admission
Non-refundable, non-transferable $117 application fee
School progress reports or report cards, if available
Teacher Recommendation Form for applicants entering Kindergarten through Fifth Grade
School or professional evaluations, including standardized testing or other relevant evaluations when applicable

Please provide information that helps our Admissions team understand your child’s development, strengths, interests, learning experiences, and support needs.

Submitting an application does not guarantee admission.

Step 4 – Complete Required Admissions Experiences

All required admissions visits and experiences must be completed before an application can be considered by the Admissions Committee.

Personal Campus Tour

If your family has not yet completed a personal visit, Admissions may schedule one as part of the process. We encourage all parents/guardians and those involved in the enrollment decision to attend.

Teacher Follow-Up

With parent/guardian permission, the Admissions team may contact a child’s current teacher to learn more about their school experience.

Early Childhood Applicants

Early Childhood applicants participate in a brief play-based observation at Virginia Chance School.

Observation dates for the 2027–2028 admissions cycle will be shared directly with applicants by the Admissions team.

Elementary Applicants

Elementary applicants participate in two shadow days at Virginia Chance School.

Shadow dates for the 2027–2028 admissions cycle will be shared directly with applicants by the Admissions team.

Step 5 – Admission Decision & Enrollment

First-round admission decisions will be shared on February 5, 2027.

Additional admission offers may be made after that date as openings become available.

If your child is accepted, you will receive an acceptance packet by email with the information and forms needed to complete enrollment. Families typically have two weeks from the date of acceptance to complete their enrollment requirements.

Enrollment Requirements

To secure your child’s enrollment:

Complete the Registration Form
Sign the Enrollment Contract
Select your tuition payment schedule
Update your child’s Student Profile
Submit the one-time $500 enrollment fee

Once these steps are completed, your child’s enrollment is secured.

Enrollment Contracts become irrevocable on March 31, 2027, at which time families are responsible for the full tuition obligation for the upcoming school year.

Tuition payments begin June 1, according to the payment schedule selected during enrollment.

Elementary Financial Aid

Need-based financial aid is available for students entering Kindergarten through Fifth Grade.

The priority financial aid deadline for the 2027–2028 school year is December 11, 2026.
