Choosing an independent school is a meaningful investment, and we recognize that every family approaches that decision differently. Virginia Chance School offers need-based financial aid for students in our Elementary Program, Kindergarten through Fifth Grade.

Financial aid helps make a Chance education accessible to families from a wider range of financial circumstances and strengthens the breadth of perspectives within our school community.

We encourage families who believe financial aid may make a Chance Elementary education possible for their child to apply.

How Financial Aid Works

1. Begin the Admissions Process
Families first connect with the Admissions team and complete the required admissions steps.

2. Complete the FACTS Financial Aid Application
Submit the online application and required supporting documentation by the priority deadline.

3. FACTS Reviews Financial Information
FACTS provides the school with an independent financial analysis based on the information submitted.

4. Chance Reviews Available Aid
The school reviews completed applications alongside available financial-aid resources.

5. Families Receive a Financial Aid Decision
Awards are communicated directly to families. Applications completed after the priority deadline may be considered as funds remain available.

Who Is Eligible for Financial Aid?

Financial aid is currently available for Elementary students, Kindergarten through Fifth Grade.
Awards are based on demonstrated financial need and available funding.
Families must complete the admissions process as well as the financial-aid process.
Financial aid is awarded for one school year at a time and families must reapply annually.
Applying for financial aid does not guarantee an award or admission.

What Will FACTS Ask Me to Provide?

FACTS will request financial documentation appropriate to your household, which may include recent federal tax returns, W-2s and/or 1099s, business documentation when applicable, income information, and additional supporting materials.

Because documentation requirements vary by household and may change, please follow the checklist provided directly within your FACTS application. Your application is not considered complete until FACTS confirms that all requested materials have been received.
