Carrie Godlove
Carrie holds a BA in English with a minor in Classics from the University of Arizona and earned a post-graduate elementary teaching credential from Sacramento State University. She brings a rich background in education, having taught both preschool and elementary-aged children, and is deeply passionate about fostering a love of learning in young students.
At Chance School, Carrie is committed to its progressive education philosophy, with a strong emphasis on emergent curriculum and inquiry-based learning. She values approaches that challenge students academically while nurturing their natural curiosity and creativity. Carrie is especially dedicated to seeing and supporting each child as a unique individual, creating a learning environment where all students can thrive.
A firm believer in the power of outdoor education, Carrie integrates nature into her teaching whenever possible. She understands that time spent outside not only supports physical and cognitive development but also helps cultivate a deep sense of wonder and connection to the world. Each year, her goal is to empower children to grow into confident, capable, and compassionate individuals who are prepared to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
Originally from California, Carrie has lived in several states since leaving for college and has called Louisville home since June 2022. Outside the classroom, she enjoys reading, music, movies, and exploring the outdoors with her husband, three daughters, and dog. Her daughters currently attend Chance School and come home happily covered in dirt more often than not- a sign of a day well spent. Carrie is thrilled to be part of the Chance community and is honored to contribute to creating a vibrant and nurturing environment for children and families.
